Location and History

Situated at 5 Memorial Drive, Coonawarra, Ottelia Winery boasts a picturesque setting surrounded by tall Red Gum Eucalypts and natural wetlands. The property's name is inspired by the Ottelia Ovalifolia, a native water lily found on the estate.

John and Melissa Innes, the founders, arrived in Coonawarra over 30 years ago with the intention of a temporary stay. Falling in love with the region, they purchased the land and planted their first Cabernet Sauvignon vines in 1993. Today, the second generation, including their daughter Matilda and her partner Paul, have joined the family business, bringing fresh energy and ideas.

Wines and Tasting Experience

Ottelia is renowned for producing high-quality wines that showcase the best of the Coonawarra region. Their portfolio includes:

• Cabernet Sauvignon: A standout variety, reflecting the cool climate and terroir of Coonawarra

• Other varietals: Sourced from carefully selected parcels across South Australia's southeastern pocket

Wine tastings are available in the newly renovated Tasting Room, open Thursday to Monday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and by appointment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A $5 tasting fee applies per person, which is deducted from any wine purchases.

Restaurant

The on-site restaurant, formerly known as Fodder, has been reimagined and offers a true celebration of Limestone Coast cuisine. Open Thursday to Monday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, the restaurant features:
