DiGiorgio Family Wines

DiGiorgio Family Wines, located in the heart of Coonawarra, South Australia, offers wine enthusiasts a rich and immersive experience in one of Australia's premier wine regions. This family-owned winery combines a deep respect for tradition with a commitment to excellence, making it a must-visit destination for wine lovers.

History and Heritage

DiGiorgio Family Wines is situated on the site of the second oldest winery in Coonawarra, previously known as Rouge Homme. The DiGiorgio family acquired the property in March 2002, bringing with them a wealth of winemaking expertise and a vision for producing outstanding wines that showcase the region's unique terroir.

Vineyard and Terroir

The winery is renowned for its use of the famed Terra Rossa soil, a distinctive red clay over limestone that is characteristic of the Coonawarra region. This soil, combined with the cool climate, creates ideal conditions for producing exceptional wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, for which the region is famous.

Visitors can explore the vineyard, including:

  • A soil pit showcasing the famous Terra Rossa soil

  • 100-year-old gnarly vines

  • A cork tree forest, where guests can learn about wine cork production

Wine Portfolio

DiGiorgio offers an extensive range of wines, including:

  • Traditional Coonawarra varietals from Terra Rossa soils

  • Alternative varieties sourced from other Limestone Coast regions

  • Sparkling, white, rosé, and red wines

  • Dessert and fortified wines

  • Exclusive cellar door offerings

Some standout wines include their Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Chardonnay, as well as unique offerings like their Dolcetto Rosé and Tempranillo.
