Voyager Estate

Nestled in the heart of Western Australia's renowned Margaret River wine region, Voyager Estate offers wine enthusiasts a world-class destination that seamlessly blends exceptional wines, stunning architecture, and immersive experiences.

Location and History

Situated in the Stevens Valley within the Wallcliffe sub-region of Margaret River, Voyager Estate benefits from a unique meso-climate influenced by the surrounding Indian Ocean. The winery was established in 1978 and has since grown to become one of the region's most acclaimed producers, forming part of the 'Golden Triangle of Chardonnay' alongside nearby Leeuwin Estate and Xanadu Wines.

Vineyard and Winemaking

Voyager Estate is committed to sustainable and organic viticulture, with its vineyards spread across 110 hectares of well-drained gravelly soils. The estate focuses on producing elegant Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignons that reflect the terroir of Margaret River. Their winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, utilizing hand-harvesting, natural yeasts for white wines, and French oak barrels for aging.

Wine Tasting Experience

The Wine Room at Voyager Estate serves as the gateway to discovering the winery's story and exploring their wines. Visitors can curate their own tasting experience, selecting six wines from the Estate or Premium range. Expert guidance is provided by the friendly staff, ensuring an educational and enjoyable experience. Tasting fees start at $10 and are waived with wine purchases.

Architectural Beauty

One of Voyager Estate's most striking features is its Cape Dutch-style architecture. The white-washed manor house, housing the Cellar Door and Restaurant, is surrounded by meticulously maintained gardens, including a beautiful rose garden. This picturesque setting has made Voyager Estate a major tourist attraction in the region.

Dining

The Voyager Estate Restaurant is a culinary destination in its own right, having been named the best Regional Restaurant of the Year for 2018 by the WA Good Food Guide Awards. Visitors can indulge in a five-course tasting experience that evolves with the seasons, expertly paired with Voyager Estate wines. The restaurant offers a three-hour dining experience that showcases the best of local produce and the estate's wines.
