History and Background
Founded in 1993 by John Small and his late wife Robyn, Smallwater Estate began as a marron farm with contract grape plantings. For over a decade, the estate supplied grapes to other wineries, including the renowned Cape Mentelle. In 2005, John Small decided to produce wine under the Smallwater Estate label, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey in winemaking.
