History and Philosophy

Established in 1996 by Scott Ireland and Jen Lilburn, Provenance Wines has stayed true to its founding principle: crafting exceptional wines that showcase the unique characteristics of special vineyards. In 2016, longtime associate winemaker Sam Vogel joined as a partner, and as of July 2024, he became the sole owner of the winery. This transition ensures continuity in the winery's vision and quality standards.

Vineyards and Winemaking

Provenance sources grapes from eight carefully selected vineyards across the Geelong, Ballarat, and Henty regions of Victoria. The winery manages approximately 16.19 hectares (40 acres) of vines, with an average annual production of 120 tonnes.
