Location and Terroir
Hochkirch vineyard is situated on a north-facing slope, 250 meters above sea level, along an elevated plateau running southwest from Dunkeld. The vineyard benefits from:
Gently undulating terrain with stunning views of the Grampians to the north
Red-brown basalt loam soil over stony gravel, transitioning to clay at depth
A cool climate with ample spring and summer rainfall, similar to Burgundy
